I receive a bunch of questions on how we put together a style for a house or even for a productshoot, so here’s a first little insight into my creative craziness.

Moodboard. Moodboard. Moodboard.

Pinterest is my go-to-hero when it comes down to creating moodboards. I’ve put together a bunch of boards divided into areas of the home. Some very obvious, like kitchen & bathroom, but also some more detailed ones like for example tiles, wallpaper, stairs, doors, etc. All of the above I use as a base when creating a style moodboard.

But not only Pinterest is my main source, Instagram is a very big source of inspiration! Personally, I like to save the posts that speak to me in different segments.

Other than social media, I still love going through some of my favorite interior magazines on a cosy Sunday with a cup of coffee... Personal favorites; VTwonen & NEST, but picked up an edition of a Home Beautiful magazine when in Australia and I must say, big fan! Knew the magazine by bingewatching the show House Rules Australia, another big source of inspo: tv shows. Lately became a big fan of Hidden Potential by Jasmine Roth & Good Bones by Two Chicks and a hammer!

Merge your mind.

So, now you have all of these ideas & styles flowing around in your head, but how do you translate them into an actual design plan

Back to Pinterest! Create a new moodboard and insert all of your favorite inspo. This way you’ll start developing some kind of overview. Another way of working is using apps to merge your favorite ideas into an actual moodboard! My personal favorite is Spark by Adobe, you can either put your pics together with your mobile device or computer. Easy peasy; you select the pictures on your phone (I like to take screenshots from Pinterest or download the original photo) and let the app create a pretty collage. Btw, the pics in this blog are all created using this app...

Now you have a baseline to work with. Take this with you when you go out looking for materials or furniture, measuring in your house, or even when you work with an interior designer or architect. Visual aid is key when renovating/building/restyling.

PS; Throwing an event like a babyshower or wedding? Use the same steps to make sure you know what to look for.

Moodboard to design plan.

Now, my favorite thing to do next is take my iPad filled with ideas back to the house we’re renovating at that point and just sit there for a few hours, haha. I measure rooms, specific areas of a space, stand there and imagine how to incorporate the inspo into my design plan. Afterwards it’s back to the drawing board to sketch, arrange and rearrange

But more on this in the next section!

Shop Our Style

So, we’re finally here.

We are officially open for business, our webshop is finally live!

Wondering what you may find? A selection of beautiful (if I may say so) pre-loved vintage items such as vases, figurines, plates, wall units, pieces of furniture and many more! So, support a small business owner and go check it out!

Wondering who is behind the brand?

Well, it all started with my first Barbie dollhouse... Not one wall would stay the same for more than a week, but that was in a time where budget wasn't an issue ;)

Interior design & collecting quirky items eventually grew out into a passion turned business. Opening this shop was the next big step, so I hope you'll love it!

With love, Stefani
