Charming Art Deco home downtown

Using only black, white & greens to renovate this fifties home was a real challenge. But who doesn’t love a nice matte black kitchen? Or a bathroom with dark grey floors?

Kitchen details • the matte black Kungsbacka kitchen cabinets from @ikeabelgium aren’t just a feast for the eye, they’re made from recycled PET-bottles instead of harmful virgin oilbased plastic 🌱Don’t you just love sustainable interiordesign? And how it tends to fit right into this lovely home from the fifties!

We installed a little bench looking over the garden to sit and drink coffee & read a good book all day. The function of the kitchen stopped being “a place to cook” years ago. It’s meant to be a spot to hang out, make a mess of when baking, a place to chat, drink a glass of wine with friends or just relax. When designing the kitchens in our projects, that is something I like to keep in mind. Space to work, storage, a cosy corner & light are my keywords for any kitchenreno!

ALL ABOUT THE WINDOWS.

Inside out • Somehow, once upon a time, I fell in love with black windows combined with nice brickwork and wood. So, the first time I walked into this house, I could already imagine the combination here. Creating the right proportions in these high windows was really important, so I redesigned them at least 6 times. 😂 So here’s a big shoutout to the windowmaker’s patience & skills ;).
